The last time I wrote, we had re-opened our clothing closet and started Tea Time with our new Iraqi (Muslim) friends...
The women asked us to help them practice English, so we are using a Children's Bible (the only thing we had at their reading level). They are loving it, they have most of the same stories in the Koran and we are able to relate to each other on a spiritual level. You would think we needed to be careful not to offend them with our beliefs, but they are actually more offended by people who have no need for God and never speak of Him.
We have been invited into this community to pray for HEALING with sick, blind and deaf family members; MOURN with a family that lost their father/grandfather; go to the mosque to PRAY; etc. They are SPIRITUAL PEOPLE, desperate (like so many of us) to fill the void in their lives and to find God in His fullness, and they are searching...and I know what that feels like!
We can only do this God's way, so pray that we are obedient and humble to follow Him in everything we do.
We still need winter clothes, especially COATS for men, women and children of all sizes!
